Important Information Regarding E-mail Hoaxes

1. (7 May 2008 )

An email is being circulated by one or more persons purporting to sign the name "Judah Gribetz, Special Master." The email advises the recipient that "your name and family name was on the list of 7,000 names of persons who had been nominated as the heirs to receive the holocaust victims' unclaimed deposit of USD: 15,000,000.00 made to Credit Suisse and Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) during the holocaust era by your relations." The email further states: "You are advised to contact the appointed bank (Bank Of China London) for immediate accreditation and payment. Your assigned payment officer is Dr. Morris Massey. Contact him now via email: ippu@e-bankofchina.com Tel:+448717206026."

THIS EMAIL IS A HOAX.

Please be aware that the Court, the Special Masters and the CRT maintain claimant confidentiality and do not release any information about claimants to unauthorized parties. Neither the Court, the Special Masters nor the CRT have ever communicated with a "Bank of China London" or a "Dr. Morris Massey" in connection with the Swiss Banks Holocaust Settlement. To the extent that claimants to Swiss bank accounts are determined to be eligible for payment from the Settlement Fund, notification of such awards will be made through Court-approved processes: the CRT in Zurich or the Swiss Banks Deposited Assets Program in New York. Please be aware that an email is being circulated from a person named Mrs. Doris Brooks who describes herself as an ICEP executive or member that has “secret details and necessary contacts” to access Swiss bank accounts of Nazi victims. She seeks persons willing to open an account for the transfer of these funds.

THIS EMAIL IS A HOAX.

No intermediary is needed to make a claim with the CRT. Moreover, the CRT reviews every claim to determine whether the claimant is entitled to the claimed account. The CRT will not award unclaimed accounts to persons not entitled to those accounts. Please be aware that the CRT maintains claimant confidentiality and does not release any information about claimants, including email addresses, to unauthorized parties. 3. (14 July 2005 )

Please be aware that an email is being circulated from a person named Dr. Raymond West who describes himself as the “Director of Claims” at the “Claim Resolution Tribunal, Claim Registration Department.” The email references a “Final Notification of Transfer” of a large amount of funds and requests that the addressee fly to London, England for the physical signing of a “Fund Release Order.”

THIS EMAIL IS A HOAX.

The CRT will not request any of its claimants to travel for any reason. Please be aware that the CRT maintains claimant confidentiality and does not release any information about claimants, including email addresses, to unauthorized parties.
